History
Francisco J. (“Jay”) Guerra and Adriane Guerra met serendipitously on South Padre Island, TX in 1997. Adriane was practicing and living in Brownsville, TX as a recent WHNP graduate from Vanderbilt University. Jay was visiting the island with his father and brother as he was attending school at the University of Houston. One year later, the two were married and Adriane moved to Houston to work in the Texas Medical Center in a busy OB/GYN clinic. Once Jay graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, the pair made a life-changing decision for Jay to move to Nashville, TN to attend Vanderbilt University as he was accepted in their renowned Family Nurse Practitioner program. Adriane moved to work with Jay’s father, a beloved El Paso, TX physician and owner of the locally well-known Doctor’s In clinic. Adriane decided to add to her education and earned a Post-Master’s as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2002, Jay completed his studies and moved to El Paso after graduation to join his wife and father in the family’s clinical practice. Over the next 11years Jay and Adriane worked hard to build their individual practices, knowledge and skills while raising five daughters together. In 2013, Jay and Adriane made the arduous decision to leave the Doctor’s In family clinic to open their own practice. The main reason for leaving was Jay and Adriane’s evolving paradigm shift of how they wanted to practice medicine—to a more integrative and functional model which no longer fit with the current practice model. This made them eager to cultivate their own practice, one that would effectively intersect their expertise with their respective interests.
El Paso Wellness Associates, LLC opened its doors in 2013. Since then, Jay and Adriane have truly enjoyed owning and running a practice together. They are completely devoted to lifelong education and to always being open to learning new things not only about their respective medical fields but also about themselves. That is the energy that sets them apart.

Adriane K. Guerra
Adriane K. Guerra is an ardent advocate for women’s wellness, including helping women inherently feel more confident about themselves through thoughtful health promotion and education. Adriane has been providing primary healthcare for women utilizing a holistic and integrative approach from adolescence, through childbearing age, to advanced years, for over two decades. As a young woman, Adriane pursued her education and career as a Masters-prepared WHNP at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Her focused scope of practice includes gynecological care, family planning, sexual health, sexually transmitted infection diagnosis and treatment, PCOS, comprehensive menopause assessment, and extensive hormone evaluation.
